Coimbatore Campus  

The main campus of TNAU is located at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. It is located at 11°N latitude and 77°E longitude with an elevation of 426.72 meters above MSL. There are four seasons recognized viz., the cold weather period (18.2°C to 30.6°C from January to February), hot weather period (22.5 to 34.6°C from March to May), South West Monsoon (22.3 to 30.9°C from June to September) and North East Monsoon (19.8 to 29.8°C from October to December). It is a 500 km drive from Chennai, 350 km from Bangalore and 3000 km from New Delhi.

The campus spreads over nearly 535 ha and has
Agricultural College and Research Institute,
Horticultural College and Research Institute and
Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute.

The School of Postgraduate Studies is located in RI building, which was built with red stone and granite. It was built with Indo-gothic architecture during 1906-1909. Renowned Agricultural Scientists like Dr.G.V.Chalam, Dr.S.Ramachandran,  Dr.M.S.Swaminathan and many other luminaries are alumni of this great institution.

The international students seeking admission to various disciplines in the Faculties of Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering and PG Education are placed at Coimbatore, the main campus of TNAU whereas, students seeking admission for Forestry and Home Science programs are placed at Mettupalayam (40 km from Coimbatore) and Madurai respectively.
