The Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute is organizing National level symposium for the fourth consecutive time and the main objective of the event include creating awareness on food crisis, food safety, food security, Processing and Preservation Techniques among the public and food industry personnel and exposing the student participants and other researchers to the Unbound Oppurtunities of food Processing.
This symposium aims to encourage the young researchers to discover new and improved techniques/ideas for food processing betterment and urges the participants to secure the world from food crisis.
About our Institution
One of the constituent college of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, it is a prestigious institute started in 1971 in order to promote engineering support to agricultural activities. The Institute comprises of seven departments viz.,
1. Food and Agricultural Process Engineering
2. Post Harvest Technology Centre
3. Bioenergy
4. Soil and Water Conservation Engineering
5. Farm Machinery and Power
6. Agricultural Machinery Research Centre
7. Physical Sciences and Information Technology
The institute offers two B.Tech. Programmes viz, Food Process Engineering and Energy & Environmental Engineering.
In addition, the institute is also conducting M.Tech. and Ph.D. programmes in Food & Agricultural Process Engineering, Bioenergy, Soil & Water Conservation Engineering & Farm power and Machinery.
The College is handling various programmes funded by foreign agencies like, CIDA, USAID and National Agencies like ICAR, MNES, MOFPI etc, and other private agencies.
