ClimaRice assesses the rice ecosystem sensitivity to climate change by using high-resolution regional model simulations and simultaneously understand the hydrological changes in the Cauvery river basin, India. The project aims to develop suitable adaptive technologies that will contribute to sustain the rice production in the future climate situations. The project integrates natural, socio-economic and institutional factors that would help in improving the adaptive capacity of the managers and end-users.
Climate Control Chamber facility installed at TNAU, Coimbatore for Advanced Research in ClimaRice
The Climate Control Chamber facility has been established at Agro Climate Research Center, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, under ClimaRice scheme funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norway. This Climate Control Chamber has the facility to control air temperature and atmospheric CO2 to carryout studies in finding out the impact of change in climatic parameters on crops.
