of proven research prototypes in large numbers for multi location trials,
prototype feasibility testing and front line demonstration of research
prototypes and selected farm implements and machinery.

centre is also closely associated with the Directorate of extension
education in imparting training to State Government Department officials,
farmers, entrepreneurs.

Frontline
demonstration of farm implements and machinery.

Special
training to rural artisans and agricultural machinery manufacturers is an
important activity of the centre.

The
Centre, since its inception, has fabricated and supplied about 10000
prototypes for multi location trials and demonstrations as well as for
farmers’ individual ownership.

In
addition, the centre has motivated more than 100 industrialists and
manufacturers to take up production of farm implements and machinery by
way of providing technical know-how, training and supply of jigs, fixtures
and manufacturing drawings. With this help, the manufacturers have
supplied more than 30000 units of prototypes to the needy farmers and
other agencies not only in Tamil Nadu but also to other parts of the
country. The prototypes have also been exported to foreign countries.

Need
based and crop oriented extension activities in collaboration with R&D
institutions, University research farms, Sugar mills, etc., are the
innovative programmes of the centre.
